Yale Swing, Blues, and Fusion is the non-competitive swing and blues dancing community on campus. We provide a space for people to get together and dance in a fun, informal setting.
Our regular events include monthly swing dances, weekly swing, blues, and fusion practica on Sundays, weekly fusion practica on Tuesdays, and trips to local dancing events. We offer Lindy Hop and Blues lessons every semester, for a nominal fee, and invite guest instructors for dance workshops at various points throughout the year.
Our events are open to everyone – undergraduate and graduate students, faculty and staff, and members of the broader New Haven community.

Get ready to take your shoes off for a grassy Fuseday this week! DJ Emilio Salazar will be putting on the music as you dance to the tunes. Emilio promises an upbeat potpourri of musical styles, from pop and electro to alternative and R&B. Be prepped for strong beats and plenty of good turns of rhythm for those isolations!
This week's outdoor location is the flat, treeless courtyard on one side of Yale's Forestry building at 195 Prospect (access from Sachem and Prospect corner under the archway and up the stairs). The backup rain location is just a few feet away in the lobby of the Kline Biology Tower--the tall brick building whose address is 219 Prospect Street. See you there!
Over the summer, keep an eye on this email, the website, or our Facebook page for info on the location! We'll likely be alternating between Yale's Science Hill and just outside the stores on Broadway. Fuseday is free and open to all levels of dancers. Fuseday seeks to be an inclusive space for all.
The highlight of our week and of yours. Join us for DJed social dancing with wonderful company in a relaxing atmosphere! No experience, no partner necessary—a smile will suffice. Swing from 7:30 to 9, and then blues/fusion from 9 to 10:30.
Do you find yourself tapping your toes whenever you hear a jazzy beat? Do you have a spring in your step and a song in your heart? Or are you looking for an exciting way to beat the summer heat and meet new friends?
If you answered “Yes” to any of these questions, you are an exceptional match for swing dancing!
Join Yale Swing, Blues, and Fusion for our beginner lesson series in 6-count East Coast Swing! We will be teaching the ‘fun’damentals of this addictively upbeat American social dance so you can jump and jive to your favorite swingin’ songs from the 1920’s to today (and into the 2020’s)! Come see how 6 counts yield endless possibilities!
No dance experience or partner required – just enthusiasm and comfortable shoes! We also recommend a water bottle.
Its summer! That means its time to dance! Come to our summer dance with the Railboys, a Yale graduate student Jazz ensemble! Dancing with live music goes from 9 pm to midnight, and we have a beginner's lesson from 8 to 9 pm!
Dance will be $10 for students and $15 for everyone else! (Cash only.) We love volunteers! We need volunteers to help at the dance while it's happening, and they'll get in for FREE! Sign up here: http://signup.com/go/MCDveMt
